Operations Graduate

Bord na Móna are seeking an Operations Graduate to join our team. The purpose of the role is to manage the operations of various Renewable energy assets, Wind, Solar Biomass and Battery Storage projects, Liaise with the trading team on day to day operations and manage the Health and Safety systems to ensure that maintenance activities are carried out in a same manner. The Graduate Engineer will work on a 12 hr shift rotation basis onsite at the Edenderry Plant as part of the Plant Operations team. As part of the training program you will do a rotation with the trading team to learn how the asssets interface with the market.

The main duties and responsibilities of the role will include the following:

  • The candidate should possess basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical or automation practices, principles, theories and concepts.

  • Actively attend and participate in team, site meetings to ensure work is planned and delivered on-time, on-budget and in line with statutory Health and Safety requirements.

  • Development of engineering and optioneering processes to improve or enhance Power Plant operations Prepare prelimary technical reports on plant KPI and carry out Root case analysis and reporting on plant outages

  • Monitor, analyse and report on all elements of plant operations in order to identify plant and process improvements. 

  • Liaise with the RE trading team in order ensure efficient communication between operations and trading

  • Internship in a similar role would be an advantage

  • Excellent technical report writing and communications skills essential. 

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to scrupulously review technical designs and documentation. 

  • Experienced in AutoCAD or other similar technical design software would be an advantage.

Communications Graduate

Bord na Móna are seeking a Communications Graduate to join our team. The successful candidate will provide day-to-day support on various Renewable Energy Community Benefit Fund projects and initiatives whilst gaining practical experience of general communications, stakeholder and advocacy engagement programmes and activities required to support the development and operation of our renewable energy portfolio. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, a multitasker, and someone who is eager to learn and grow within our organization.

The main duties and responsibilities of the role will include the following:

  • Support the successful roll out and annual running of Community Benefit Funds across the business. 

  • Assist in the development of annual programme plans to support same. 

  • Working with other members of the team to ensure Fund governance is adhered to and actively assist with Fund reporting as required to internal and external stakeholder. 

  • Assist in the implementation of Community Benefit strategies aligned with the overall organisational goals and objectives.

Environmental Scientist Graduate

Bord na Móna are seeking a Graduate Environmental Scientist to join our team. The successful candidate will assist with the delivery of Planning Applications including co-ordination of baseline environmental / constraints assessments, layout / Infrastructure design, Environmental Impact Assessment Reports and Appropriate Assessments for a variety of renewable energy infrastructure projects.

The main duties and responsibilities of the role will include the following:

  • Assist the Planning Team with the preparation / co-ordination of planning and environmental assessment requirements for Renewable Energy development projects up to the point of consenting decision and any subsequent challenges to same.

  • Assist with the co-ordination of all baseline environmental surveys and constraints assessments required to input into the design process and to inform the Environmental Impact Assessment and Appropriate Assessments. 

  • Assist with and input into feasability and / or options assessment studies as required during the project design phase. 

  • Assist with the review of environmental survey programs.

  • Provide project management and co-ordination support to the planning team. 

  • Attend project meetings to record and follow-up on agreed actions and to gather and summarise the outputs of project work streams. 

  • Assist with the update of project specific documentation e.g. project programmes, financial tracking, risk registers, issues / action logs as required.

  • Assist Project Managers, and the Stakeholder and Advocacy team as required, with the development of materials for consultation with local communities and other relevant stakeholders.

Engineering Grad

Bord na Móna are seeking an Engineering (PM) Graduate to join our team. The successful candidate will support the Project Manager in the delivery of large-scale renewable energy infrastructure projects through this phase of development. The Programme team sit in Development Division and lead consented projects through the commercialisation phase of development. The team assist with procuring key construction contracts, securintg long-term revenue offtake agreements and project financing, finalising consents in preparation for construction and obtaining final investment approval. 

The main duties and responsibilities of the role will include the following:

  • Work with the project team and support the successful delivery of large scale infrastructure projects. 

  • Assist in the development of project management plans in the areas of scope, schedule, cost, quality, resource, communications, risk, procurement and stakeholder management.

  • Co-ordinate project communications including the preparation of meetings, reports and presentations. 

  • Administer the document management system and co-ordinate the transfer of project information across a diverse and multi-geographical project team. 

  • Utilise the online document control software to distribute and monitor documents for approval and ensure satisfactory revision control is maintained.

  • Support in the procurement of all goods and services required by the project in accordance with company policy and legislative requirements.

IT Graduate

Bord na Móna are seeking an IT Graduate to join our team. The successful candidate will provide business as usual and project support in IT domains such as Infrastructure, Applications, IT Security and Service Delivery. This will deliver a very rounded experience, while also developing the core competencies as set out in the Graduate competency development framework.

The main duties and responsibilities of the role will include the following:

  • Proactively support line manager in the delivery of assigned BAU support and projects, using these opportunities to put in to practice much of the theory learned in college and developing the prescribed competency as per the graduate competency development framework. 

  • Complete assigned work with each of the IT disciplines to achieve the very best rounded experience.

  • In BAU support, will be expected to log support tickets in BnM’s Service Management System, triage assigned tickets and assist first & second line support teams in resolving BAU issues.

The Graduate Trainee Accountant position will be supported by Bord na Móna to complete the Chartered Accountant (ACA) qualification over a period of 3 - 4 years (depending on exemptions). The position will provide work experience rotations across various finance teams within Bord na Móna while also supporting the Graduate Trainee Accountant by providing paid exam fees and study leave.

The main duties and responsibilities of the role will include the following:

  • Support the line manager and other members of the Finance team in the delivery of assigned tasks and projects, including the delivery of month end and year end. Use these opportunities to apply the theory from ACA studies into practice to ensure all prescribed competencies are achieved per the development framework.

H&S Graduate

Bord na Móna are seeking a Health & Safety Graduate to join our team on a 2 year fixed term contract. This role will be based in Boora and will report to the Head of EHS. The successful candidate will support the corporate Safety Management System, actively learn from peers, provide SMS administration assistance, research and prepare for site visits and key findings from site visits. Operational control initiatives support, SMS Documentation (e.g. Safety Statement, Risk Assessments etc) project support and SMS communications are also involved in this role.

The main duties and responsibilities of the role will include the following:

  • Support the projects and initiatives arising from the corporate safety strategy plan. Assist in data compilation and analysis to determine trends. Suggest area's for improvement/ initiatives for consideration on future strategy planning.

  • Provide Safety Administration support e.g. training records, filing, minutes, draft safety plans, risk assessments, safety statements. Review/ revise existing safety documentation.

  • Actively contribute and promote BnM H&S Awareness campaigns, programmes and competitions.
