Midlands Minister Offers Hope To Music Industry

A Midlands Junior Minister is offering hope to the beleaguered music industry.

Longford Westmeath TD Robert Troy says it's fair to assume performers can get back to work by September, as the PUP is phased out and everyone who wants a vaccine should have one.

It comes as musicians, performers and entertainers are expressing concern about not being able to earn an income as the economy reopens.

The Junior Business Minister says he understands performers' sense of anxiety and frustration and is recommending they apply for the Music and Entertainment Business Assistance Scheme, which goes live tomorrow.

With thanks to Midlands 103.
