Major Eco-Tourism Development To Be Created In The Midlands

The midlands will have a new, major eco-tourism development at the Hodson Bay resort.

Yewpoint, a 145-acre special conservation area at Lough Ree, is set to become an eco-hub as part of the Shannon Masterplan.

There will be no cars and the new eco villages will be solar-powered.

The site was purchased recently by the O'Sullivan family with investor support and will provide between 20 and 30 jobs.

John O'Sullivan is chairman of the Hodson Bay Group.

He says tourists will be dazzled by Yewpoint's beauty.

With thanks to Midlands 103.
